Survival in the zombiepocalypse will require more than just luck. Of utmost importance is the survival mindset and a working knowledge of zombies.
But even the most determined individual will need some supplies. The Centers for Disease Control recently released suggested survival supplies and they are great, insofar as they go.
But they left out one important item: a machete.
Luckily we at the Bellman have been prepping for this eventuality since before 2008.
The Zombie Research Society is another great resource for learning more about the coming undead pandemic.

"Let the Right One In"

Absolutely the best vampire movie I have seen in years. It really succeeds despite being a vampire movie. It's very Swedish, which in this case is a good thing. I can't really tell you why you need to go see this movie, but you need to go see it as soon as possible.

Here is some random bits of the film that I liked. None of these are the main reasons you need to go see the movie, of course, because like I just told you, I can't really tell you that.
* The characters hang out at the "Sun Palace."
* With one exception, the CG effects are incredibly subtle, yet effective.
* You find out the right and wrong ways to try to murder someone and/or to hide a body in Sweden.
* You find out the absolutely wrong way to try to commit suicide in, well, anywhere

This is how a lot of bad movies start...

It looks like it ended up in water, so I'm guessing the heat and motion just kicked something nasty (but terrestrial) into the air rather than brining a zombie plague from beyond the depths of space.
VILLAGERS in southern Peru have been struck by a mysterious illness after a meteorite made a fiery crash to Earth in their area.
Around midday Saturday, villagers were startled by an explosion and a fireball that many were convinced was a plane crashing near their remote village, in the high Andes department of Puno in the Desaguadero region, near the border with Bolivia.
Residents complained of headaches and vomiting brought on by a "strange odour," local health department official Jorge Lopez told Peruvian radio RPP.
Seven policemen who went to check on the reports also became ill and had to be given oxygen before being taken to hospital, Mr Lopez said.
Rescue teams and experts were dispatched to the scene where the meteorite had left a crater 30m wide and 6m deep, said local official Marco Limache.
"Boiling water started coming out of the crater and particles of rock and cinders were found nearby. Residents are very concerned," he said.

The once and future king
Here:
That's funny... I have a general sense that if Reagan were in office today, there would be more OMFG RUN IT'S ZOMBIE REGAN BACK TO EAT OUR FUCKING BRAINS!!!
The current disillusionment with Bush is directly linked to the fact that he has not governed as effectively as Reagan. There’s a general sense in this country that if Reagan were in office today, the Iraq War would have been handled more effectively, our economy would be even stronger than it currently is, and more Americans would feel optimistic about the nation’s future.

"Vampire Hunters" drive a stake through Milosivec's heart
It's true. To prevent the Serbian dictator from returning to life, they dug him up and drove a three-foot wooden stake through his heart.
This would be more reasonable--well, reasonable for vampire hunters--if Milosivec, like some other dictators, had a reputation for entanglement with the dark arts, but to my knowledge he didn't swing that way. So it's a bit of a vampiric non-sequitur.
Are there stories about Milosivec I haven't heard?
