The NSA's domestic surveillance (which began before 9/11) includes a database of millions of domestic calls with identifying information, even though terrorists don't use telephones these days. The Justice Department has shut down its domestic spying investigation after being denied security clearance. The United States continues to kidnap and torture individuals, who are sent to secret prisons in foreign countries for indefinite detention with no legal recourse.
